Few charitable causes are more emotionally powerful than the Folds of Honor Foundation.
Started by a fighter pilot and golf professional from Grand Haven, MI, Folds of Honor provides millions of dollars in scholarships to the children of fallen soldiers.
In Gaylord, MI, Treetops Resort has supported Folds of Honor since its inception and has asked Hobson Media to assist with the messaging aspects of their annual Labor Day event to raise funds for Folds of Honor. With that invitation, Hobson Media and our flagship television program, Michigan Golf Live, have helped develop, create, produce, and present a wide array of programs and special events to help bring more attention to both Treetops and Folds of Honor.
In September of 2016, we helped introduce a new event during the Labor Day weekend festivities – the Threetops Marathon. In this creative concept, each of the nine Par 3 holes was “staffed’ by three golfers over a 3-hour time span. Our goal was to play the course as many times as possible, using the same golf ball…all while raising funds for Folds of Honor.
The result was a smashing success and quickly became one of the most viewed episodes of MGL TV ever produced. The event also presented a wonderful example of how Hobson Media can partner with a for-profit client to do great things on behalf of a worthy non-profit cause.
